Trainfest
History
In 1971, Trainfest began as an event for Milwaukee area model railroad enthusiasts to display their layouts. Hosted by the Wisconsin Southeast (WISE) Division of the National Model Railroad Association (NMRA), it was a one day event held at a local VFW Club in Milwaukee. Today, after 35 years of continuous operation, Trainfest now fills three exhibit halls, spans two days, features 50 layouts, hosts 40 manufacturers, attracts ten historic societies and museums drawing attendance from the entire U.S.
