What is Trainfest?
Currently chugging into its 38th year, Trainfest is an ongoing celebration of model railroading. Although it may sound like it’s just for train fans, it’s truly designed for everyone. One weekend each November, model railroad buffs, families and the locomotively curious converge at Trainfest to marvel at more than 50 amazing running layouts, see new products from dozens of manufacturers, learn about the latest technology, and get great deals on all kinds of cool stuff. At Trainfest, model railroaders become kids again, and kids start the exciting journey toward becoming hobbyists.

May I ride the model trains?
No, they’re models. But, we do have a life sized Circus Train Replica for kids to ride.
Is Trainfest stroller and wheelchair friendly?
Absolutely. We’ve designed our showroom with wide aisles that cater to such needs.
May I stand next to the scale models and pretend I am a giant?
Well, yes you may.
Are the layouts placed too high for my kids to see?
Most of our layouts are at a height viewable by kids. But to be safe, we encourage you to bring a little step stool for your tiniest tots. Your little ones will be entertained for hours!
What’s with the suspenders and conductor hats?
It’s all about looking the part at Trainfest.
Is Trainfest only for collectors and model train enthusiasts?

Will I need Dramamine?
Not unless you have the ability to transform into the size of a miniature figure and then sneak aboard a fast-moving model train.
Should I be concerned about second-hand train smoke?
No. While the smoke is very realistic, it’s not harmful.
