Trainfest: America's Largest Operating Model Railroad Show
| 39th Annual Trainfest rolls into Milwaukee for an experience to remember.
What is Trainfest?
Trainfest is a bona fide Milwaukee treasure—a grand exploration of the model railroading hobby. Featuring more than 50 running model railroad layouts, Trainfest appeals to kids from 1 to 99. Each November, Trainfest exhibitors bring to life the model railroading hobby by depicting miniature worlds. Manufacturers, retailers and layouts from across the United States and beyond participate in the show. At Trainfest, visitors spend hours exploring and learning about the elaborate layouts, attending clinics and demonstrations, seeing the latest train products, and experiencing the wonder of the hobby.

Who exhibits?
- More than 50 model railroad clubs, groups, and individuals, bring their intricately detailed operating layouts that depict in small scale: cities, towns and railroads throughout the United States. Layouts are complete with swimming holes, campgrounds, outdoor theaters and much more.
- 60 hobby dealers are on hand to help in purchasing the right products and accessories to complement an existing layout or to help select the perfect starter set.
- 60 manufacturers showcase their products, as well as feature “what's new.” Experts staff booths to demonstrate latest technology for controls and sound equipment, and for landscape and building design.
- 10 historical groups come prepared to share knowledge, images and references of a bygone, but not forgotten railroading era.
